Apple may have given up with iPhone 12 mini. The sale of the smaller model in iPhone 12 lineup is known to be lower than expected since users prefer models with larger display like the regular and pro models do have.

However, Apple will kill the mini by preparing a new model with a larger display to replace it. The new model is expected to attract users who prefer larger display phones.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo at TF International Securities said in his recent prediction that the new model will have the same display size as the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which is equipped with a 6.7 inch display.

I bet that the upcoming large-screen iPhone will also have a trimmed specification. In other word, it will be a regular model with dual-camera lenses like iPhone 12.

Despite having the same display size, the new iPhone will be cheaper in terms of price. Currently, iPhone 12 Pro Max is priced at $1,099. So the new model could be priced $200 less than that.

Unfortunately, the new iPhone won’t come this year. Kuo says that the new 6.7 inch iPhone will start its debut in 2022.

Meanwhile the camera in pro models, 6.1 and 6.7 inch, will have a significant upgrade. Kuo says both could jump to 48 megapixel cameras compared to 12MP used in the previous generations.

In the same year, rumor has it that Apple will also launch the next generation of iPhone SE with 5G connectivity. iPhone SE is a cheaper model in iPhone family.
