We already know that the most popular instant messaging in the world WhatsApp app is only available for iPhone. While for the iPad, the app does not support the tablet natively yet till now.

Even on the Mac, the WhatsApp app is merely just a web version that still needs iPhone to work and sync across devices using the same WhatsApp account on multiple devices.

But that will change soon as Facebook-owned messaging App is preparing to roll out some interesting new features. One of them is WhatsApp support for the Apple tablet.

The coming of the app is hinted in the group chat between WABetaInfo and WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart. Surprisingly, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg joined the chat and confirmed the most waited feature by iPad users is coming to iPad.

Other features that are confirmed to be coming to iPad is the “disappearing mode”, which will automatically enable ephemeral messages in new chat threads; and also “view once” where a sent message will disappear after the person sees it.

However, Mark didn’t reveal when WhatsApp for iPad is coming to iPad. He just confirmed that the new feature is imminent. So let’s hope it will be coming in the near future.

While waiting for WhatsApp to come to iPad, you can use the app form third party ones available on the App Store.

The third party WhatsApp apps resemble WhatsApp for Mac, which still rely on iPhone. Unfortunately, many of them are paid apps and the free versions have many annoying ads if you don’t mind using.
